What does glass blowing involve?

Glass blowing is a centuries-old art and craft that involves shaping molten glass into various objects and forms using a blowpipe, or blow tube. It requires a high degree of skill, precision, and control over the glass at extremely high temperatures. Glass blowing requires both artistic creativity and technical expertise to transform molten glass into stunning works of art.

This is the number one question we get asked and why we create orders in the manner we do. We are extremely confident in our process. Here’s how we handle it.

  1. Your sales order and ash collection jar have your order number and customer name. These two items never leave each other’s side.
  2. When you place an order you will be asked for your loved one’s or pet’s initials. We will actually hot stamp those exact initials onto the glass during the creation process. This excludes mini stars and necklace pendants.
  3. We only create one order at a time. While this may make the creation process take longer, it ensures zero cross-contamination of ashes. We believe that this kind of care is necessary for respecting your loved one or pet.
  4. As soon as we finish an order, the remaining ashes are immediately returned to your ash collection jar, and then placed back into your order packet.
  5. With every item ordered, we include a certificate of authenticity. The certificate of authenticity will include the name of the item we created, who the item is in memory of, the signature and name of the artist who created it and the date the item was created.

Yes, we will send an email confirming your ash collection kit arrived.

The customer is responsible for covering the postage which will be similar in price to when they originally paid to have the ashes mailed to Remember Me Glass. As a reminder, we only require one tablespoon of ashes to fulfill your blown glass keepsake order.

This is totally normal, and while they are very small and do not happen all the time it can be a possibility. Cremated remains consist of organic compounds which are converted into metal oxide when mixed into glass. These metal oxides can create small bubbles as part of a chemical reaction, this is what helps make every glass art item unique.

At Remember Me Glass we take great pride in the care and attention we dedicate to every order. With that being said to give that care to our intake, design, creation, and finishing processes we project a three to five-week window from when we receive your ash collection kit.
